Boat recovery in the event of a breakdown

When your boat can no longer continue navigating safely, Sailornet coordinates the recovery through its own 24-hour Operations Centre.

The Operations Centre

Contact the Operations Centre and report the position, the type of boat, the nature of the breakdown and the conditions on board. After the necessary checks, Sailornet identifies the available operator and coordinates the intervention.

The recovery is carried out to the port covered by the subscription: the home port for Safe Harbour, or the nearest suitable port for Inshore and Offshore, within the limits set by the General Contract Conditions.

Unlimited tow-ins for subscribers

Sailornet subscriptions do not set a maximum number of tow-ins per year. Each intervention must nonetheless fall within the plan's coverage area, operating conditions and contractual terms.

When it can be requested

The service can be requested when a breakdown or a minor grounding prevents the boat from reaching a port on its own, safely.

A minor grounding is one that can be resolved with a normal recovery vessel, without special operations, lifting, complex underwater work or exceptional equipment.

Response times

The Operations Centre starts handling the request immediately. Actual response times depend on the distance of the available vessel, weather and sea conditions, the authorisations required and the local operating situation.
