An assistance network across the Mediterranean
Sailornet coordinates operations through a network of marine operators based in the Mediterranean areas set out in the contract. The applicable limit depends on the subscription taken out and on the boat’s position.

How a request is handled
Home port
The 6-mile limit is measured from the berthing port stated in the contract. Recovery means a return to the berthing port.
Inshore
The 12-mile limit is measured from the nearest coast. Recovery means a return to the nearest suitable port.
Offshore
The 20-mile limit is measured from the nearest coast. Recovery means a return to the nearest suitable port.

Geographic areas
Cover applies within the Mediterranean basin, including the areas listed in the General Terms and Conditions, among them Italy, Corsica, mediterranean France, mediterranean Spain and the Balearics, Slovenia, Croatia and Greece. Operational availability in a specific position must be assessed against the conditions at the time, local permits, the distance of the vessels and the rules that apply in the area.
Restricted areas and special conditions
In Marine Protected Areas and in zones subject to restrictions, assistance may be excluded or conditional on authorisation from the competent authority. Unsafe weather or sea conditions may also lead to the operation being suspended or postponed.
